Marvin Acklin, PhD, presents a live virtual professional training program on Uses of Artificial Intelligence in Forensic Evaluations and Reports in partnership with the American Academy of Forensic Psychology (AAFP).
This training is an early user's exposure to AI applications in the daily work of clinical and forensic psychologists. The presentation will introduce participants to a variety of commonly used AIs. The presentation will include a live demonstration of AI applications for common clinical tasks.
Following the presentation, participants should have the basic skills to approach and utilize commonly available AI applications and develop strategies for using AI in common tasks.
This training is oriented toward beginning users of AI who are seeking an introduction to AI capabilities and applications for daily work in clinical and forensic psychology. The presentation would be oriented to new users regardless of level of clinical training and experience. The presentation addresses ordinary tasks in daily clinical and forensic work.
Program Outline:
- Presentation of AI applications for forensic psychology (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Otter ai)
- Description of AI capabilities for various clinical and forensic tasks (data collection, integration, analysis, synthesis of findings, determination of confidence, alternate hypothesis analysis, and predictive analytics.
- Some anonymized case material includes criminal responsibility, competency to stand trial, violence risk assessment, and diagnostic assessment through natural language.
- Demonstration of the application of evidence-based science in forensic opinion formulation.
